Yttrium Oxide Plsma Thermal Spray Coating
The thermal spray coating I'm going to introduce today is yttria (yttrium oxide) plasma
thermal spray coating.
Y2O3 thermal spray coating has excellent heat resistance, high-temperature oxidation
resistance, and corrosion resistance, and is a ceramic thermal spray coating used in various
fields by exhibiting high resistance (erosion) in the plasma etching atmosphere used in
manufacturing equipment or processes such as semiconductor / display.
The working method is atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) / Ingredients are over 99% of
Y2O3 / Average roughness is about Ra 3 ~ 5.
The color is usually white, and the coating thickness is a method in which the powder is
semi-melted and repeatedly laminated to form a coating layer due to the nature of the
thermal spray coating, so a minimum of 50 ~ 100um is usually required.
In addition, the photo above is a photo of coating after sandblasting with emery
(white alumina), so it has a gray color, but I know that the method of thermal spray coating
after surface treatment with bead blasting (SiO2) is also widely used.
Yttria thermal spray coating requires some careful attention because black or red spots can
be seen with the naked eye if the coating environment is not managed or the conditions
are not right, or if the purity of the Y2O3 powder is low.
In our microplasma sprayer, we use high-purity, high-quality powder to proceed in a skillful
way, so if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via profile or email.
